Why Would You Encourage Tourism to Cuba? My Brother Alan Gross is Imprisoned There 2

Bring Alan HomeDallas Morning News – Opinion

Re: “Havana great time — You can get there from here,” June 1 Travel story.

Writer Joy Tipping wrote a light and airy article about her travels to Cuba. My brother Alan Gross also traveled to Cuba four times on behalf of our government to bring in cellphones and computers to Cuba’s small Jewish community. On his fifth trip in December 2009, he was arrested and is now languishing in a Cuban jail cell (bringalanhome.org).

He would agree that the Cuban people are warm and wonderful. He would agree that the music is great and the art bright and cheerful. But beware, if you drive in Cuba and have an accident, you would most likely be thrown in jail. If you express political thoughts, you will be thrown in jail. If you are Cuban and attempt to travel to the U.S., you will most definitely be thrown in jail.

Is this a place you would like to visit and support?

  1. Here we go again with Alan “Woe-Is-Me” Gross. His sister omits mentioning that he was motivated by more than $500,000 he received in payment for going to Cuba; that the Jewish community that he went to assist snitched him out right down to the last person; that Gross denounced the American government during his trial in the hope of receiving a lighter sentence; that Gross afterward sued the U.S. government; that he is a dual Israeli national but the Israeli government hasn’t done anything for him. Boo hoo. Too bad, so sad.

  2. The more our government try to open tourism with the island the more chances our government is taking on allowing the Castro regime to infiltrate agents in the United States. Our Interest Office in Havana should be cognizant of this factor to be more careful of who they are allowing in the US.I saw not long ago in face book a known communist and Political-Military Instructor Instructor from the town I was born living in Las Vegas, his name ALDO NIN who was a military Instructor and a Camilito graduate from the Institute Hermanos Gomez where he was instructing the students how to shoot AK-47 with a major named Castro who was teaching classes on military readiness.Let’s control the flow of tourism.
